The Senior Analyst, Business Incident Management (BIM) manages incidents which involve leveraging highly specialized expertise to deal with various lines of business throughout CIBC - US Region and related service providers, during times of major business incidents, working closely with all the Businesses. The Senior Analyst, Business Incident Management (BIM) supports efforts to troubleshoot issues, identify contingency/workaround plans to continue business operations, provide communications around an incident to business units that will assist with internal/external communication and regulatory reporting.

The Senior Analyst, Business Incident Management (BIM) will leverage highly specialized expertise to deal with various lines of business throughout CIBC - US Region and related service providers. These incidents can involve solutions that are typically new, rapidly evolving/changing and can be very complex, requiring a need for creativity/innovation and lateral thinking to address unique operational issues and concerns. Other responsibilities include:

  • Developing and sustaining highly effective relationships at all levels of the organization and ensure appropriate representation from each all-impacted Lines of Business across the US Region;

  • Working knowledge of CIBC processes and systems especially critical business services and potential back-ups;

  • Incorporating lessons learned into Business Incident Management processes to drive continuous improvement;

  • Building relationships and work closely with the Enterprise Business Incident Management team to ensure consistency around the execution of the program; and

  • Producing metrics and reports around all Business Incident Management incidents.

Qualifications

Qualifications for this role includes:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of managing incidents, including principles, practices, processes, procedures, products and services is preferred;

  • Experience in incident management, crisis management, emergency management or business continuity is preferred;

  • Well-developed communication skills sufficient to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas related to complex technical and conceptual issues;

  • Well-developed writing skills sufficient to prepare materials involving interpretation, analysis, and assessment;

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;

  • Ability to resolve problems by researching, analyzing, interpreting and applying complex issues and developments across a range of related activities; and

  • 5 years of industry experience especially in the financial industry is preferred.
