Description

This position is responsible for operating machinery and maintaining production flow while also maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

This position is responsible for safe and proper delivery and distribution of eggs and chicks to contract grower poultry farms or hatchery in an approximate 200mile radius. Requires the ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck certification (PIT). This position will require minimum equipment operations and ability to maneuver diesel powered tractor-trailer combinations on open highways, small paved and dirt roads and driveways. This position is responsible for performing other duties as assigned to include general production duties on the production floor. Essential functions include Lifting above shoulder level up to 40 lbs., bending, stooping, walking, pulling, pushing, and standing for long periods. Operate and maintain machines, equipment and environment for correct operations process. Maintain clean and safe work environment. This position is also responsible for complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures to include Animal Well Being and Biosecurity guidelines. Environment requires working in hot, cold, wet, and dusty conditions. This position requires climbing a ladder to work on elevated surfaces.

Requirements

Schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday 5 am up to 12 hours on duty. Some weekend work required. Sign-on bonus of up to $3,000. Applicant must reside within a 50-mile radius of facility. Must possess a valid Mississippi CDL Class A. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have DOT Certification on the date of posting. Must have one year of verifiable experience in type vehicle that will be operated. No DUI DWI conviction in the past eight (8) years in a personal vehicle. No DUI DWI conviction in Commercial Motor Vehicle ever. No DOT Drug or Alcohol Violation within the past three (3) years, including Roadside Inspection violations as identified on locations PSP report. No previous driving history of a Rollover in the past five (5) years. Must be able to read and write effectively in order to follow delivery schedule and follow simple maps and directions to contract farms. Must pass a driving test and demonstrate the ability to drive a semi-tractor trailer to move chicks and eggs between locations. Must pass a mandatory drug test for Tyson Drivers each time a DOT physical or random is given.
