Elevance Health Director of Sales - Account Management in WALNUT CREEK, California

Director of Sales – Account Management

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Director of Sales – Account Management is responsible for directing account management retention and servicing activities for large group accounts with medical and specialty products. This includes leading at team of 4 Strategic Account Associates along with 5-6 Service/Support staff.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure profitable growth.

  • Develops strategies and executes retention and sales plans to achieve membership growth and financial goals.

  • Develops and motivates staff to achieve common goals.

  • Participates in market facing meeting, presentations and client/broker relationship development

  • Develops strategies and participates in renewal underwriting and negotiation meetings

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

  • Reports to RVP of Sales

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Excellent managerial and leadership skills strongly preferred.

  • Strong Presentation and Communication Skills preferred.

  • Strong market, broker and account relationships preferred.

  • Experience in selling, renewing, or leading Large Group team members preferred.

  • Strong technical understanding of Medical Insurance, products, networks and underwriting preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $165,264 to $270,432.

Locations:  California; Colorado; Hawaii; Nevada; New York; Washington State; Jersey City, NJ.
