This position is located in the Minneapolis market and supports the Customer Category Manager on all category captaincy endeavors for Target. Key responsibilities include leveraging market and retailer data to develop best-in-class assortment and merchandising recommendations to meet the needs of the Target Guest. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Target and Tyson teammates to bring merchandising strategy to life by creating anchor (common size) planograms, building out multiple versions across formats and segmentations, proofing, and submission into Target’s server. This role also has the responsibility for monthly sales reporting, post transition sales reviews, new item tracking, and assisting with category reviews and data analysis projects required to drive sales and advance customer relations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Turning sales data analysis into assortment recommendations
Maintaining and updating planograms
Generating monthly reports analyzing sales performance with actionable insights
Attending weekly status meetings with Target business unit team
Establish, nurture, and maintain productive working relationships with key customer and internal stakeholders.
Assisting with ad hoc insight requests
Assisting with bi-annual category reviews
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Education: BA degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: 2+ years of experience in Category Management, Sales, and/or Consumer Insights. Food industry experience a plus.
Computer Skills: Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel. JDA/Space Planning.
Communication Skills: Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present findings insights and strategic recommendations.
Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners across multiple departments.
Strong Planning and Organization Skills: Able to establish priorities, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
Special Skills: Experience analyzing data & providing actionable insights utilizing retailer and syndicated data; excellent planning and project management skills. Self-starter able to work independently on projects.
Systems: JDA Space Planning, Nielsen, Microsoft Office, etc.
Travel: Minimal, Estimated <10%
