To learn more, visit our . __ Position Overview:A Material Handling Design Engineer will have a lead role in small to medium scope and complexity projects and/or upgrades. This role will have a strong supporting role in larger capacity expansions or system redesigns. This role will leverage engineering first principles and design tools to create designs for DigiKey Electronics automated material handling systems in the Product distribution center. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Responsibilities: Provide documentation, training and basic support Design and deliver material handling system components Use CAD and/or 3D tools, Design mechanical systems and/or controls and electrical systems including documentation and training Work with DigiKey and 3rd party teams to lead areas of system installations and testing Be a Subject Matter Expert on designs for which you are responsible Do prototyping or design a Proof of Concept Work on a design team or individually to meet business needs for the engineering team, and know the capabilities of the areas of design for which you are responsible Follow engineering first principles in equipment and process design Provide support for medium to complex issues Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Collaborates with Senior and Principal Engineers, Software Engineers and end users with a majority of time spent designing, integrating and delivering material handling systems or controls.
