SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to is to execute the delivery of the HR technology road-map and operational projects. This position is expected to contribute to strategic planning and execute the future vision of the HR shared services model. Current objectives are focused on growth of HR capabilities in support of HR and business objectives. This position will be responsible for managing the end-to-end life-cycle of release management activities for Workday and other HR systems including reviewing release information, coordinating changes and communication across stakeholders, analyzing impacts of functionality to current systems, and ensuring proper test protocols are followed. Other responsibilities include supporting or backing up mass-load and acquisition conversion activities as well as contributing to the development and implementation of solutions to deliver on the HR technology roadmap. This role will also play an integral part in identifying opportunities for process improvement and contribute to cross functional initiatives for both HR and IT.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Delivery / Release Management: Take ownership as the business lead for guiding functional application teams through the change and release life-cycle of Workday and other HR applications using Tyson change and release management standards. Participate in evaluation, reporting, and analysis to understand effectiveness of new releases and initiatives, recommend solutions, and coordinate communication of release implementation and changes across functional stakeholders. Coordinate change and release efforts through change management applications and owner review meetings and communicate changes and release plans to stakeholders. Drive process improvement through technology by partnering with business functional areas and IT to think strategically about new Workday release functionality and implementation planning. Ensure best practices and requirements are followed for testing and change and release management for both process and technology configuration changes across the team and within functional areas. Identify opportunities for improvement of existing change, testing, and release methodology. Develop, use existing, or research new tools that drive efficiency in the delivery of our HR function; Continuously seek opportunities for synergy, improvement, simplification and automation of existing processes, technology, reporting, etc. Provide thought leadership to internal business customers by researching and analyzing data to draw conclusions, identify trends and uncover potential issues. Use this knowledge to develop recommendations. Assist with broader HR Connect initiatives and strategy planning. Support: Work with functional leads to develop and maintain test cases and scenarios / user stories. Ensure that all testing procedures have been carried out as per the predetermined goals Develop and assist with mass load \"EIB\" efforts and other data maintenance tasks as required to support functional areas. Focus on delivering support efforts within established service level agreements to ensure department key performance indicators are met.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3-5 years relevant experience or equivalent

  • Advanced computer skills required. Understanding of HCM functional areas and implementation, configuration, and architecture of on premises and cloud HCM systems; experience with software change and release management applications and processes, scripting for master data loads, reporting and analytics tools. Workday and/or Kronos experience a plus.

  • This position will interact with and is expected to communicate changes, align deployment and testing plans, and secure buy-in across a broad range of users, stakeholders, and management. Must have the ability to translate complex technical themes into business facing language. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Ability to lead/deliver analysis of complex configuration and change and release management processes for systems and master data configuration. Ability to develop and use mass-load techniques to support acquisitions and other projects, processes, users, and stakeholders.

  • Experience with test case preparation, testing administration, process documentation, identifying improvement opportunities and specific measurements to track performance post implementation.

  • Proven ability to manage cross functional projects using the defined Tyson methodology. Understands how to escalate & drive issues to resolution, manage budget, perform resource planning and manage scope.

  • Exceptional technical and analytical skills with the ability to think creatively across topics and develop new solutions; Superior organizational and problem solving;

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage competing priorities & deliverables in a fast-paced, dead-line oriented environment; Perseveres to locate necessary data and identify creative solutions to enable project completion; Experience collaborating with solutions to enable project completion; Consistently delivers high-quality, timely work resulting in highly satisfied customers; Background in Project Management; Passion for learning; and team player.

  • Travel: 1 to 5 domestic trips per year.
