Guthrie Analyst, Provider Compensation - Finance - Full Time in Sayre, Pennsylvania

Position Summary:

Under the direction of their leadership, the Provider Compensation Analyst is primarily responsible for an expanded scope of analysis of provider compensation, calculations of provider salaries, statistical data, budget coordination, compensation audit, financial planning and other projects/analysis as requested related to responsible areas.

Education, License & Cert:

Bachelor’s degree with a preferred emphasis on accounting, finance, economics, or related field of study from an accredited four‐year institution. A Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field is desired

. Experience:

A minimum of three years of general accounting and financial operations experience. Healthcare and/or multi‐entity system or public accounting experience preferred. Familiarity with PeopleSoft/Oracle and Epic is desired with a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word required.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides timely and accurate data analysis to the Sr. Director of Finance and EVP, Medical Affairs in support of the development, improvement and continuous monitoring of provider compensation models that are fair, transparent and affordable ‐ as compared to the strategic objectives of the medical group.

    1. Facilitates the implementation of systems, programs and strategic initiatives for provider compensation and payment processes to promote effective recruitment, engagement, and retention of medical group providers.

    2. Ensures that the medical group has access to updated external benchmarking information to administer existing compensation models in a manner that responds to current market data.

    3. Supports medical group physician compensation committee and the Physician Management Council during annual provider compensation review ‐ primarily accomplished through the presentation of individual provider compensation calculations and specialty‐specific market analysis from most recent external survey data.

  2. Collaborates with the Director of Budgeting and GMG Finance Manager to strategically manage all provider compensation activities within the medical group related to business operations. Oversees successful integration of forecasted compensation data with related software tools used within the organization.

  3. Collaborates with the VP, Controller and payroll department to monitor approved provider compensation changes related to rate of pay and/or changes related to provider complement. Additionally, the provider compensation analyst is responsible for the preparation of the annual provider compensation payroll file as approved by the Physician Management Council.

  4. Functions jointly with the Corporate Financial Controller and the Accounting Services Team to ensuring accurate accounting of all provider compensation related activities related to the medical group.

  5. Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Finance to provided data and analytics to an external accounting firm to complete a Physician Compensation Audit.

  6. Supports operational leadership and staff in varied areas of financial analysis such as standard monthly management reporting and variance analysis, budgeting forecasting, and strategic planning. Include review and coordination of financial analysis across different departments and/or regions/business lines.

Other Duties:

  1. Participates in committees and projects as assigned.

    1. Assists with continuing education of department and operational personnel.

    2. Keep Supervisor informed on areas of responsibility.

  2. Performs other duties as assigned.
