This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This position requires that you be able to set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery. This position also requires trouble shooting of various mechanical issues in an industrial setting. This position requires the use of Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out daily documentation that is required in the system. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis and be able to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. This position will be exposed on a routine basis to warm temperatures ranging from 65-90 degrees, wet and or humid conditions, slippery floors in some areas, and concrete floors. This position also may be exposed to airborne particles (primarily flour dust), and a noise level loud enough to require hearing protection. Must be willing to complete all required training, both hands on and computer based, as required for the job.
You must not have been employed by the Tyson Mexican Original plant in Sanford, NC on more than two occasions to be eligible for hire. Must be available to work overtime and weekends. Applicants from the following counties will be considered Lee, Chatham, Harnett and Cumberland County in NC. You must also have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in industrial maintenance or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
