Central Maine Medical Center RN, Part-time Nights, Rumford Community Home, LTC in Rumford, Maine

Rumford Community Home is seeking a RN to join our team! This is a part-time 24-hours, benefits eligible position. Starting pay is $32.00.

This is a RN position with our Rumford Community Homes Long Term Care Facility in Rumford, Maine. The RN provides professional nursing services to residents in nursing home and skilled rehab settings, ensuring residents' needs are met through ongoing assessments. The R.N. manages individualized direct resident care to the geriatric resident populations by developing an individualized resident care plan, in conjunction with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

  • Current Registered Nurse License, in the state of Maine

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.

Essential Duties:

  • Obtains medical history, performs nursing assessment and develops plan of care for residents.

  • Evaluate resident’s needs through ongoing assessment and revises care plan based on changes in resident’s condition.

  • Demonstrates ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all residents and reassessments as per policy.

  • Demonstrates a time conscious awareness and ability to prioritize during high acuity situations.

  • Performs resident care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for resident’s age.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the resident and their clinical condition.

  • Follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.

  • Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity.

  • Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of residents and their families.

  • Functions as liaison between administration, residents, physicians and other healthcare providers.

  • Interacts professionally with residents/family and provides appropriate care and information based on resident status.

  • Able to interpret data about the resident’s status in order to identify each resident’s specific needs and provide care needed by the resident group.

  • Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

  • Participation in performance improvement and quality programs

  • Consults other health team members/departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the resident’s needs.

  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to the Administrator, Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, other supervisors, co-workers and team members.

  • Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.

  • Documentation meets current standards and policies.

  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.

  • Coordinates and supervises resident care as necessary.

  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.

  • Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for residents and families in accordance with professional standards.

  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops; shows responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing education.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
