JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Berks, a college of the Pennsylvania State University near Reading, Pennsylvania, invites visual artists with an interest in college teaching and curating exhibitions on a college campus to apply for our artist-in-residence program for the 2024-2025 academic year.

We seek an artist with a promising exhibition record and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. The position entails teaching one general education studio art course to non-majors and mounting one art exhibition (solo or group) in the Freyberger Art Gallery on the Berks campus per semester. The residency is designed to offer a visual artist time to develop a new or existing body of work and offer a course based on their area of expertise. The ideal candidate will work with students, staff, and faculty to enhance the presence of the arts on our campus and connect with our community.

The artist will be chosen based on the quality of the materials submitted as determined by the selection committee. An MFA or master’s degree in a related field is required. University-level teaching experience is preferred. This position offers a salary and benefits with a supplementary budget for materials.

The salary range for the position at Penn State Berks is $41,000-$51,000

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
