Job Summary

Assists Material Planners in planning and purchasing of packaging, raw materials and other supplies of goods and services from approved suppliers in a manner consistent with approved quality standards and delivery requirements. Develop the purchasing function to advance the goals, objectives and interests of the company. Back up for other department members as needed.

Position Responsibilities

• Obtain material quotes for new/modified materials.

• Assure supply of ingredients and packaging with facility material planner by determining the quantity and quality based on production needs.

• Arrange for deliveries to provide a smooth flow of materials consistent with quality considerations

• Graphic updates on materials managed by either flow through or hard transition date with minimal or no loss.

• Implement opportunity to reduce working capital associated with material inventories.

• Monitor vendor quality and service performance with facilities

• Manage Food Logic reconciliation of corrective actions and quality improvement projects. with facilities quality assurance, R&D, and vendors.

• Implement process improvements projects.

• Host regular vendor visits and support cross shift functionality

• Monthly Pcard reconciliation, scheduling payment of multiple pcard only vendors.

• LSC Pillar member, champion of Non-Finished Goods Optimized

• Participate in monthly department meeting / safety audit, hosting once every 4 months.

• Review monthly reports for open purchase order, MRBR, GRIR reconciliation.

• Complete 5s audits, be safe observations, alchemy, and misc training monthly.

• Assure implementation of marketing, R&D, and operations for material transitions.

• Train as back up for vacation coverage.

• Help in planning and performance of company physical inventories

Position Qualifications

• Bachelors in business, supply chain, packaging or applicable experience.

• Must be detail oriented to read, analyzes, and interprets data including fractions, decimals, and percentages.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
