Position Summary: In this newly created position reporting to the CEO, the CGO will partner with the executive team and Market and Regional leaders, as well as interact with members of the Board of Directors, to develop and drive growth strategies and initiatives, resulting in the achievement of our profitable growth goals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, management, and oversight of the Company's new Growth Organization which includes the four National Market Leaders (Aviation, Buildings & Development, Rail and Transit, and Surface Transportation), Business Development and Marketing Manager, and 11-person Corporate Development team (proposal development, communications, and video production).

We invite experienced candidates with a proven track record of leadership, strategic thinking, and decision making to join Urban as we embark on our next chapter of growth and transformation. Candidates in all geographic areas will be considered; however, an understanding of Urban's core markets and clients is preferred. The selected candidate will be expected to travel to Philadelphia, PA (Urban's Headquarters) and regional offices throughout the country for in-person meetings and collaboration.

Responsibilities  * Lead the development, management, and oversight of the Growth Organization including Market Leaders, Marketing staff, and the Corporate Development departments.  * Ability to make and execute recommendations to support an enhanced proposal process, increased win and/or capture rate, and marketing and communications initiatives that support company growth goals.  * Establishment of annual performance metrics for Growth Organization team.  * Perform an initial review and analysis of regional and market financial performance and lead a decision-making process that results in profitable pursuits, business acquisition and growth for the firm.  * Lead short-term and long-term strategic planning initiatives.  * Collaborate with Operations in annual forecasting activities to align the organization's business strategies and initiatives with profitable growth.  * Partner with Urban's Training Institute to develop training which supports the development of a business development culture throughout the company, including sales life cycle activities and client relations.  * Maintain a broad understanding of Urban's services and capabilities and identify opportunities for improvement where applicable.  * Partner with all corporate departments such as Finance, Operations, IT, and Human Resources to support new initiatives focused on growth.  * Represent Urban within the industry and maintain a positive relationship with clients, external stakeholders, and industry professionals.  * Up to 25% travel to Urban offices, conferences, client meetings and regularly to Philadelphia, PA (Urban's Headquarters) for in-person meetings.

Requirements :  * Bachelor's Degree required; master's degree preferred.  * Minimum 20 years of AEC experience, including 10 years of business development experience and a proven track record of executive managerial experience and revenue growth.  * Financial and Operational understanding as it relates to supporting growth initiatives and performance metrics.  * PE, AICP, or other technical licenses preferred but not required.  * Ability to travel to Philadelphia, PA (Urban's Headquarters) and regional off ces throughout the country for in-person meetings and collaboration.
