Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Provides safe, competent care for persons with wound, skin and ostomy needs. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates treatment of wound, skin, and ostomy patients in collaboration with the healthcare team. Facilitates education/training, planning, organization, and implementation within the hospital. Acts as a resource for hospital staff regarding wound/skin/ostomy care. Participates in performance improvement processes in order to ensure competent nursing care related to wound, skin, and ostomy care.

Education Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:

2 Year/ Associates Degree

Specialty/Major:

Nursing

Preferred Education:

4 year/ Bachelors Degree

Specialty/Major:

Nursing

Licensure/Certification Required: Current nursing license in the State of Ohio and/or Kentucky BLS, ACLS, PALS and any other unit specific certification requirement

Licensure/Certification Preferred:

Hold national certification in clinical specialty or leadership within 6 months of eligibility
