APS Investigator (Caseworker II)

The Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS),within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS),is looking for an APS Investigator (Caseworker II ) for the Northern Utah Counties. The APS Investigator provides adult protection services (APS) by investigating and assessing allegations of abuse,neglect,and exploitation on vulnerable adults,and documenting investigative findings and client progress toward risk resolution. They conduct Quality Assurance Reviews and carry out other tasks as assigned. This position requires in-state travel as part of the normal workload.

This position is telework eligible up to 3 days per week with 2 days required in office. The employee may also be required to attend DAAS/DHHS events. The State of Utah requires all employees to physically work inside the State of Utah Boundaries.

Caseworker II:

Requires a Social Service Worker license or a closely related license in the State of Utah.  This employee will be fully trained and exercise independent judgment and discretion and assess human service needs for elder adults and/or people with disabilities.

Caseworker II ($19.79-$29.75)

Caseworker I:

 A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology,Sociology,Social Work,Family & Human Development,Criminal Justice,Gerontology or a closely related experience is preferred.  This employee will operate under close and regularly provided professional supervision.  

Caseworker I ($17.78-$26.67)

Principal Duties

The APS Investigator (Caseworker I/II):

  • Assesses client needs
  • Investigates abuse,exploitation,and/or neglect referrals
  • Recommends appropriate care or intervention
  • Documents client progress
  • Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has at least 6 months employment as a case manager or investigator
  •  Knows investigative techniques
