Tyson Foods Hatchery Worker II in Newton, Mississippi

This position is responsible for operating a specific piece of equipment in an assigned area for efficient production while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Position requires transferring stacks of live chicks on a dolly with a pallet jack. Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, loading, unloading, squatting and stacking. Pulling and pushing buggies up to 300 lbs. Lifting up to 30 lbs. is required. Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and machinery, floors, drains, baskets, buggies etc. Requires obtaining and maintaining powered industrial equipment (PIT) pallet- jack certification. Requires walking and standing on concrete surfaces 8 to 10 hours a day. Requires willingness to work in cold/hot/wet/humid/dusty (chick down) environment. Requires use of high-pressure hoses and water hoses. Willingness to work in a plant environment. Willingness to work most holidays. Willingness to perform all other duties assigned by management. Comply with all company policies to include Animal Well Being and Biosecurity policy. Comply will all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Applicants will be considered for general type openings on 1st shift. This position will work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 3:45am to 1:30 pm. Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered.
