Collins Aerospace is looking for an individual Inspection Technician III to join the quality inspection team. The Repair Station Inspector physically inspects aircraft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards and quality, customer requirements have been met, and components are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required documentation accurately completed and filed.

This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.

This position is not eligible for relocation

1st shift Typically Mon. - Fri. 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Must obtain a Repairman Certification within 6 months of hire. For the requirements to obtain this certification, please refer to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 145 here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-14/chapter-I/subchapter-D/part-65/subpart-E.”

  • Perform both final & receiving inspection on components and piece parts.

  • Must be thoroughly familiar with customer and regulatory requirements to determine airworthiness of the products on which maintenance activities have been performed.

  • Report any problems, issues, or concerns to the Quality Control Supervisor or Quality Manager in a timely manner and follow up to resolution.

  • Enter turn-backs when hardware or paperwork nonconformities are identified.

  • Communicate nonconformities to the shops to help eliminate knowledge gaps.

  • Ensures they have been properly trained, meet the minimum requirements, and earn the appropriate stamps.

  • Maintain proficiency through training requirements.

  • Ensuring non-conforming product is handled in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide guidance to other inspectors on regulatory and customer requirements.

  • Work with engineering to receive training and qualification during New Production Introduction.

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • HS diploma with and at least a minimum of 24 months experience in Aerospace experience

  • Must have hands-on knowledge of FAA Part 145 & AS9110 regulatory requirements

  • Must be able to use measuring tools, such as: micrometers, calipers, and height gage

  • Current or previous experience in reading and interpretation of technical data and quality procedures

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA A&P Certificate desired but not required.

  • Prior experience utilizing Six Sigma and or CQE

  • Familiarity with common MRO practices

  • Ability to utilize computer systems SAP, to input & retrieve information

  • Proficient in comprehension and interpretation of technical data and quality procedures.

  • Effective communication with various internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to Customer Account Managers, VSMs, engineering, and customers.

  • Able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Skilled in risk-based decision making to address moderately complex problems.
