Dairy Farmers of America Utility Production Worker in Middlebury Center, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 26164 At Hire $19.05 / after 6 months- $19.55 /  1 year of service- $20.05 Medical insurance $50.00 per week including family. 12a - 8a General Purpose: Are required to work in, but not limited to, forklift operations, powder packaging, tote handling, housekeeping, C.O.P/C.I.P, and other areas as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform the duties required to maintain their assigned area sanitary and clean. This may include but not limited to operations, packaging, warehousing, lunch room, locker room/restroom, windows, lights, floors, walls ceilings, etc.
  • Prepare all packing equipment and material for assigned area
  • Transport and properly store of all packaged goods as required for assigned area
  • Perform bulk fill duties as assigned and to assure quality product handling
  • Perform duties required to package the finished product (i.e., milk powder)
  • Obtain and maintain all certifications and licenses that are required
  • Assist with inventory counting
  • Dump ingredients for mixing as required
  • Perform sealer operations to ensure all bags are sealed properly
  • Complete and maintain all records as required
  • Perform any other duties as assigned throughout our facility(s) caused by operation fluctuations/ requirements
  • Load and unload trailers
  • Input data into computer system as required
  • Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

*Requirements *

  • Must be able to work a flexible 7 day work schedule including holidays, weekend, and mandatory overtime.

Normal work hours are 12am to 8 a.m.

Minimum Requirements: Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required  Must have.
  • Have no known allergies or reactions to compounds used in assigned areas
  • Forklift experience or be able to acquire the skills to drive forklift

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must reach acceptable level of proficiency within a thirty (30) day period
  • Must be able to work flexible work schedule including overtime
  • Must be able to follow all oral and written instructions and maintain any necessary records
  • Must display and maintain personal cleanliness and GMP obligations
  • Must be able to drive forklift
  • Must be able to learn the necessary computer requirements of assigned areas
  • Display the ability to maintain accuracy and use good judgment and initiative in performing assigned duties. Must be self-motivated and be able to work alone or as a team member
  • Must be able to follow steps required to ensure proper equipment operation
  • Must be able to change task daily
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
