Job Description:

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the management and supervision of the Maintenance department; developing and managing the overall maintenance functions for the facility; coordinating maintenance work with production scheduling and ensuring proper manpower requirements for the maintenance department; training and developing maintenance supervisors and hourly team members; assisting in the development and management of the departmental budget. The incumbent will promote and implement maintenance best practices to increase equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs; will develop and manage the capital budget; act as project manager on capital and maintenance expenditure projects to ensure properproject scope, development, equipment specifications, equipment selection, costing, planning and scheduling, installation, and start up and commissioning. Also responsible for scheduling, planning and coordinating equipment installations,building maintenance projects, refrigeration maintenance and scheduling and coordinating the work of outside contractors. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned; ensures compliance with all human resource and safety policies, food safety, sanitation and all other duties as determined by management; must be self-motivated and have the ability to demonstrate sound judgment, leadership, and decision-making skills. This position is responsible for food safety, food qualityand legality. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline or equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience:

Eight (8) plus years work experience in industrial maintenance management; experience managing the work of maintenance supervisors and in building and managing a maintenance budget; must have strong knowledge of the equipment used in meat packing operations and preventative maintenance programs.

Computer Skills:

Sound working knowledge of relevant systems used within the Tyson system; a sound working knowledge of MMS and MS Office.

Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills; Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.

Travel:

1 to 5 domestic trips per year

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provides functional oversight, supervision and training to all subordinate Team Members.

Position Involves:

Must be able to visually inspect work progress and move to various areas of the plant which may include climbing stairs and ladders. Also must be able to work in a hot, cold and wet environment. Preference will be given to internal qualified candidates currently employed for Tyson Foods
