Humana Legal Counsel in Louisville, Kentucky

Humana is seeking an associate for a Legal Counsel role to provide support to Humana's Medicare Part D health plan, pharmacy benefit manager, and pharmacy legal entities.

Legal Counsel will support Humana by:

  • Providing guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and protection against external risk;

  • Providing guidance related to the application of fraud, waste, and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the Beneficiary Inducement Statute; and

  • Reviewing and drafting a wide range of contracts and supporting documents for commercial and clinical activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate, with licensing in at least one state

  • Active membership in a state bar association

  • A minimum of 3 years of law firm or in house experience

  • Health law background

  • Contract drafting experience

  • Strong legal research, analytical and writing skills

  • Ability to work both independently under general supervision and within a team

  • Ability to work in complex organization with diverse clients at all levels of the company

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$136,200 - $187,400 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
