Tyson Foods Sales Account Manager, Food Service- Los Angeles Metro in Los Angeles, California
As a contributing team member, the Sales Account Manager will report directly into a Director of Sales (DOS) or a Food Service Sales Executive. The position will have regular interactions with the DOS and other regional sales managers while focused primarily on smaller chain, non-commercial, and large leverage operators. This person will be accountable for negotiating contracts and prioritizing efforts against plan with minimal direction. This position is expected to work cross functionally with various business units and trade teams to protect and defend the core business, create a competitive advantage, while attaining mix and volume targets within our value added product tiers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and nurture professional relationships with key operator customers within specific markets in collaboration with our broker. Work directly with the Region brokers to develop product knowledge and implement sales strategies. Manage operator segment strategic initiatives; maintain and further develop business relationships with the operator’s leadership teams to achieve business objectives. Work with Region brokers, business units and trade teams to deliver and manage against sales plans by managing marketing programs, expense management, category management, and reviews with customers. Create and execute against a list of top operators, which includes details of the operator, size, opportunity and next steps. Provide sales support at broker sales meetings. This may include, but is not limited to: Product training, product serving, presenting key features and benefits. Must be able to deliver against specific volume goals, and executive price strategies within the market place, manage spend associated with the volume and manage the mix of product sold.
Experience: 5 years of professional experience; minimum 3 years outside sales experience (Food Service, Food Service Manufacturing or Distributor Sales)
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Special Skills: Strategic thinking, negotiation skills, understanding of motivational leadership skills, conflict resolution skills
Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products. Experience with CRM system preferred.
