Founded in 1877 a small group of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kentucky led by Sister Euphrasia Stafford began their health ministry. Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

Performs cardio-vascular ultrasound including echocardiograms, transesophageal, echocardiograms, stress echocardiogram, peripheral, extracranial, and visceral vascular ultrasound as appropriate for individual credential. and completes study reports. Displays a positive image of Saint Joseph Hospital by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior toward patients, physicians, visitors, volunteers and other employees. Provides patient care/services based on identified needs/developmental level for all patient populations checked below; care/services may include assessment of individual patient needs; incorporation of age-specific characteristics in patient education, communication and planning; provision of individualized care relevant to patient needs; and recognition, monitoring and provision of interventions as appropriate.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Implementsan age appropriate plan of care in conjunction with the health care team per Scope of Service.

  2. Identifies/performs responsibilities that incorporates infection control procedures and universal precautions.

  3. Identifies/performs responsibilities in reporting abuse and violence in the workplace.

  4. Identifies/performs responsibilities in Code Blue.

  5. Identifies/performs responsibilities necessary to ensure employee health to include ergonomics.

  6. Attends mandatory safety offerings and complies with hospital and department radiation policies.

  7. Identifies/performs responsibilities for emergencies to include handling and exposure of hazardous waste, bomb threats, disaster, fire, tornado and uncontrolled patients.

  8. Identifies/performs responsibilities when working with different age groups in the workplace.

  9. Other duties as assigned by management.

Completion of formal cardio/vascular ultrasound program is preferred. Associate Degree in Allied Health or a Baccalaureate Degree in an equivalent field are considered.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Credential for designated modality must be obtained within 1 year of hire from a credentialing organization in compliance with the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission requirements. (Cardiac Credentialing International, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or the American College of Radiology )

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.

PREFERRED Qualifications

RCDS, RCS, RVT, RVS credential

Pay Range

$30.47 - $44.19 /hour
