Job Summary and Qualifications
You will be responsible to the Director of the department for facilitating, coordinating and delegating the delivery of patient care to a defined group of patients during their entire hospitalization period
You will be responsible 24 hours a day for the staffing and management of patient care in each of your units, for promoting the practice of professional nursing in a specified patient care area, and for the acquisition, development, and utilization of resources (human and material) needed to fulfill those responsibilities
You will work cooperatively with administrators, physicians, staff, other managers and all customers of the department to provide services, which consistently meet and exceed the expectations of their customers
You will mentor employees in quality and patient satisfaction goals for the clinical area(s) of responsibility and serve as a positive role model for staff management, problem solving and professional standards of nursing
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; BSN required
Masters Degree in Nursing or related health field preferred (or actively in progress)
Current Nevada license to practice nursing
Certification in nursing specialty: CEN, CPN, CCRN, etc., or Nursing Administration (CNA) preferred
Specialty Certification for clinical areas preferred – BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS required
Recent, current acute clinical knowledge (greater than 3 years) and demonstrated competency and knowledgeable in the principles of personnel management required. Minimum of 1 year management or leadership experience required
