Yulista Industrial Maintenance Mechanic JR104799 in Huntsville, Alabama

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Technicians install, repair, and maintain machine shop equipment and perform other industrial type repairs as needed. These technicians ensure all machines function properly through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on CNC machinery, production equipment; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturers instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical/electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing equipment.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools.
  • Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventory by anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders to eliminate down time of equipment.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by online educational workshop forums, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks with current OEMs. (original equipment manufacturer)
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field required.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
  • Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/ maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must be able work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Must be trustworthy in order to handle confidential information routinely
  • Effective oral and technical written communication skills
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.
  • Ability to follow a process.
  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma with additional college/technical school course work in a related skill set preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 15 years experience in CNC machine maintenance along with conventional equipment as well.
  • Must have experience in CNC controls on machines to operate machine axis and understand perimeter requirements tied to machine.
  • Must be willing to travel if needed to complete customer requirements for the project.
  • Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a govern security clearance.
