WSP USA BIM Manager in Herndon, Virginia
Summary of Position:
The BIM Manager is technically skilled and experienced in BIM and Revit processes, standards, and procedures. The BIM Manager has developed communication, coordination, project management, and leadership skills. The BIM Manager proactively coordinates, communicates, problem solves across disciplines, and exhibits the ability to balance the client relationship with the project’s financial goals.
Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise
Manages the creation and approval of BIM content
Establishes documented processes, procedures, and workflows
Manages the interoperability of BIM and design/engineering tools
Researches and learns new technology software
Acts as the BIM expert and serves as primary point of contact for Architects and project consultants
Project Management
Understands trade specific scope of project, as well as scope of other trades
Leads and monitors office-wide implementation of BIM standards
Drives BIM standards, processes and procedures
Performs Quality Control based on office’s CAD/BIM standards of quality
Provides overtime projections to Partner in advance of major milestones
Serves as main point of contact for Architects and other project consultants
Identifies and proposes options for improvement or resolution of issues and relates those solutions directly to business goals and issues
Develops BIM marketing material
Works with vendors of all disciplines on content download and updates to the office standards
Anticipates problems, concerns, issues, and suggestions in advance and communicates and reviews with senior leadership in a timely manner
Fosters an overall progressive and positive attitude towards BIM and utilizes latest technologies available in the industry
Firm Processes and Business Development
Contributes to the content development of department standards, calculations, memos, etc.
Participates in office-wide committees (e.g. software, training, standards, etc.) and/or centers of excellence/sectors (e.g., BIM Committee, offshore office collaboration)
Minimum Competencies:
7+ years of experience
