Description

Robert Half is in search for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will monitor general accounting practices, budgeting, developing, and maintaining internal accounting controls, and closing month-end and year-end financials. The Senior Accountant reports to and supports the Assistant Controller to ensure the company’s financial records are in accordance with GAAP, corporate policies, and applicable government regulations. This position provides management and staff with monthly financial reports and projections as requested and informs the Senior Accountant and Controller of all situations that have potential impact on the internal controls or financial results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work in partnership with Assistant Controller in resolving accounting issues, preparing reports for management, and specific accounting projects

• Assist Assistant Controller and Controller to ensure a timely and accurate monthly general ledger close and preparation of financial statements for both management reporting and tax reporting purposes.

• Work with staff and senior management to create and post journal entries and accruals, account analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, for assigned areas of responsibility, which will initially include but are not limited to:

  • o Inventory

  • o Sales Contract Accounting

  • o Job Costing

  • o Revenue Recognition

  • o Percentage of Completion

  • o Commissions

  • o Bank Reconciliations

• Complete governmental filings as required, such as quarterly and/or annual census

• Identify and implement process improvements.

• Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving internal controls to support growth.

• Prepare audit schedules, work papers and other supporting documentation as required.

• Interface with external auditors during quarterly review and annual audit

• Assist in preparation of annual budgets, and related balance sheet and cash flow reports, and monthly forecasts.

• Special projects, analyses and other accounting tasks as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Required Education and Experience:

• 4-year college degree in accounting/finance, business administration, or related field

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a variety of accounting positions with financial reporting and general ledger responsibilities

2) Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and current accounting practices, exposure to SOX at a minimum

• Proficient skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word

• Proficient skills in an ERP systems environment

• Strong analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Ability to maintain high energy, commitment, open and honest detail orientation

• Ability to work as a team member
