The rendering department at our facility is a fast pace, think on your toes kind of job. The operator is responsible for making sure all machines in the room a clean and running. In your position you will learn how to operate the machinery, trouble shoot any small breakdowns or mechanical issues that do not require expert maintenance assistance. We are a standalone rendering department and try to handle most problems in house. Our responsibility is to handle all raw materials from harvest that are not suitable for human consumption. (I.E raw blood, Hair, Guts, and Bones) All inedible components are sent to us and processed as edible animal feed. Some strenuous work will be required in cleaning and maintaining machinery from time to time. So anyone applying for the position should be able to be on their feet for extended periods of time, and be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. given the situation. This position does come with on job training if needed. Other miscellaneous task include climbing our silos to clean pipes (Best to be comfortable with heights), and using the jockey truck provided to move trailers and tankers to be loaded and cleaned. The department can be overwhelming to some of your senses, so a tolerance to heat and odor is a plus.
