Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for a CandD Sorter at the Pitt County Landfill. This position is primarily responsible for sorting building materials, recyclable materials, and trash for the recycling stream as they pass on a conveyor. The opening is for a morning shift of (7:00AM - 3:30PM). The ideal person needs to be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Willing to work at various stations as directed by the site supervisor.
• Differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable materials.
• Sorts and places products in designated bin according to product type to ensure

Physical Demands:

• Light to moderate work with lifting and/or moving objects up to 10-35 lbs. occasionally, 10-20 lbs. frequently and walking or standing most of the time.
• Ability to reach, handle, finger
• Repetitive use of hands/arms

Work Environment:

• Exposure to extreme weather conditions (hot in the summer; cold in the winter)
• Work around moving machinery and equipment
• Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, oil, fumes
• Exposure to other potential hazards including blood, bodily fluids, chemical spills, etc.
• Repetitive use of hands/arms
• Frequent Interruptions
