Aerotek Automation Technician in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Description:

2nd shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am

Training will take place on 1st shift for roughly a month before moving to the off shift.

The main responsibility of this position is to work the automation (Hekuma, Arburg, Fanuc, Staubli, Nachi Robots) portion of the molding lines. This person will make adjustments to existing programs as needed, Troubleshoot and Diagnose Issues if the line stops working. They will need to know how to read the message on the panel: find the source of the error and work at finding a solution. Any Electrical troubleshooting would entail sensor changing, they're not responsible for programming from scratch. They will also Start and shut down presses so having previous experience with plastic injection molding is necessary. As far as the mechanical aspects, they will be responsible for end of arm tooling changes.

The most important thing in their eyes is to have someone who won’t abandon a line when it goes down and leave it to the next shift. If a person is not sure, they want them to work with other techs and find a solution to get the line back up and running.
