Job Description:

The incumbent will be responsible for the daily operation of biobanking initiatives run by the Department of Neurology. Responsibilities will include chart review, identification and recruitment of research subjects, proper consenting or research participants, data collection, data entry and quality control of data. Incumbent will be responsible for obtaining specimen samples (e.g. blood draws, spinal fluid, saliva) and processing and storage of samples according to UF IATA policies and procedures.

The incumbent will be in charge of recruiting patients for various studies with add-on biobanking initiatives. Incumbent must follow protocols as outlined, which may include, but is not limited to, screening, administering questionnaires, receiving, storing, itemizing and cataloguing of biological specimens for shipment and storage, as well as giving some standardized cognitive and motor tests. Enter data into a database/source binder/CRFs and reporting all adverse events and protocol deviations. Communicates with sponsors, monitors, research personnel to ensure all aspects of study compliance. Completes regulatory documents, data capture and monitoring plans. Responsible for patient scheduling, visit tracking, primary contact for patients and sponsor and coordination of monitoring visits. Prepare samples for shipment as required by the protocol and ship samples in accordance with protocol, local, state and federal requirements.

Oversee small lab to ensure equipment is maintained, routine maintenance is scheduled, maintain inventory of supplies, reagents and equipment. Implement standard operating procedures for laboratory procedure and workflows.

Expected Salary:

$45,000-$55,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent

combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with University, College and administrative

representatives.

Ability to prepare, produce and present reports.

Ability to deal effectively with the faculty, staff, and regulatory agencies.

Experience with personal computer including word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

KNOWLEDGE:

Excellent time management skills and ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. Basic lab skills and management, including equipment such as freezers, centrifuges.

SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Phlebotomy.
