Job Summary

Summary: The Assistant Server plays a crucial role in supporting the service team to deliver an exceptional dining experience to guests. This position requires an energetic individual who can efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy dining environment. The Assistant Server assists with the preparation of the dining area, helps servers during peak times, and ensures that guests receive prompt, friendly, and courteous service.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Guest Service

• Assist servers with the setup of dining areas, ensuring all necessary supplies are available and tables are set correctly.

• Provide guests with menus, fill water glasses, and serve bread and other table items promptly upon seating.

• Address guest inquiries courteously and efficiently, escalating to a senior server or manager when necessary.

• Order Assistance

• Take additional orders as needed, including drinks and appetizers, to support the main server during peak hours.

• Assist in delivering food and beverages from the kitchen to the tables, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and prompt service.

• Check on guests during meals to handle additional requests and to relay any issues to the primary server promptly.

• Cleanliness and Organization

• Clear tables throughout and after guest meals, ensuring a clean and inviting environment for new guests.

• Assist in the cleaning and resetting of tables, restocking service stations, and maintaining a tidy dining area.

• Follow health and safety guidelines strictly to ensure the dining area remains clean and safe for guests and staff.

• Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to communicate order timings and special requests, ensuring seamless service.

• Support other team members during high-volume periods to ensure optimal team performance and guest satisfaction.

• Operational Support

• Participate in pre-service meetings to understand daily specials, menu changes, and service guidelines.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the management team to support the overall operations of the restaurant.
