Intern

Internships at Hardinge consist of short term, projects related to advanced metal-cutting solutions. During your internship, you will learn new processes that drive meaningful business objectives, support operational goals, develop business relationships, and gain hands on experience to further advance your career.

The position requirements for an internship at Hardinge and its companies are as follows:

EDUCATION:

Students must be entering their 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate program or 2nd year of technical program. Prior industry experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE YOU'LL GAIN:

Throughout your internship you will gain experience in a manufacturing setting developing an always learning mentality. Expand on your computer skills and knowledge on internal software systems, technical writing skills, and professionalism.

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

• Pursuing degree in applicable field

• Strengthen written and verbal communication

• Focus on personal and organizational continuous improvement and development

• Develop professional relationships and mentors

LOCATION: Elmira, NY

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.

• Rotates through our divisions of responsibility and provides ideas to grow and improve the business.

• Accepts designated, business-focused projects to research, propose ideas and solutions.

• Engages with customers or clients and provides service and/or sales.

• Provide suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes.

• Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.

• Interns will present on their experience/project to a panel of industry professionals at the conclusion of their internship.
