ST NORBERT COLLEGE Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC in DE PERE, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private,
Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC.
This position is responsible for operating, maintaining and modifying
HVAC equipment including but not limited to the central steam boiler
plant, chillers and other refrigeration systems, air handling units,
VAVs, unit\'s heater, and steam traps. Responsibilities also include
developing and implementing best management practices regarding occupant
comfort, system performance, and energy management. Must possess at
least basic working knowledge of building automation systems and
controls. Specific responsibilities: Operate, troubleshoot, repair,
modify, and perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment and
associated systems. All work and materials to be compliant with State,
Local, and National codes. - 50% Operate the College central steam plant
and other outlying boiler systems. Maintain daily water treatment of
boilers. Complete daily inspections to ensure safe and efficient
operation. - 15% Complete work orders as needed. Respond to system
outages and occupant complaints. - 15% Stay current on industry trends
and certifications to optimize College systems for performance and
reliability. Look for and report on opportunities to improve
performance, reliability, or energy efficiency. Help budget, plan, and
implement improvements. - 5% Read and understand building and mechanical
drawings and other technical documentation. Participate in plan reviews
for renovations and new buildings. - 5% Perform other duties as assigned
including but not limited to assisting in other non HVAC work orders and
assignments, participating in the On-Call program, and Snow Removal
program. - 5% Manage outside contractors and internal resources on
project work or preventative maintenance programs on all College
properties. - 5% Perform additional duties as assigned and attend
College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a
manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and
observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices
required by the College or governmental authority. ***** OTHER
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience and Credentials - - 3-5 years
of experience in HVAC operation, maintenance, or installation. -
National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers 3rd
class boiler license or equivalent minimum. - Valid driver\'s license. -
Two years boiler systems and HVAC work experience. - Demonstrated
experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or
commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College. Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities - - Ability to interact professionally with
coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations. - Ability
to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and
assignments. - Skilled in basic math computations such as addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division. - Ability to exercise good
judgment and decisions in an expeditious manner. - Skilled at setting a
good example for others. - Skilled at organizing events, programs,
projects and seeing them through to completion. - Ability to concentrate
and focus in a noisy environment. The College may consider any
