Summary

The Sr Accounts Payable Associate supports the Corporate Accounts Payable team in controlling vendor master data, including setup of new vendors and updating vendor information as needed. Handles AP Urgent demands, including requests for critical payments and coordinating with the Business Analyst to ensure timely payment. Acts as backup for the end-to-end payment run process. Assist with other Accounts Payable functions as needed.

This position will support our Finance team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow Freeman process for review of vendor applications and change requests to ensure that data is legitimate and complete prior to making changes in our ERP system

  • Perform IRS TIN Matching on new vendor submissions to validate accurate payee data

  • Ensure that SOP for new vendor process is up to date at all times

  • Collaborate with management to recommend and facilitate process changes as needed with the goal of safeguarding vendor master data and company assets (cash)

  • Monitor AP Urgent demands to communicate critical payments needed that day to the Business Analyst

  • Ability to perform the end-to-end payment process as needed

  • Navigate and research via the following systems: Coupa, SAP, MS Outlook, Samanage

  • Communicate with vendors and internal staff, including professional and timely response to inquiries

  • Ability to establish and maintain ownership of review of work and AP processes

  • Provide additional assistance to co-workers as needed to meet deadlines

  • Create ad-hoc reports (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and functions as directed by management

  • Cross-train in additional accounts payable functions

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma is required; College degree or experience is preferred

  • Three (2) or more years of experience in Accounting or Finance

  • Two (2) or more years of SAP ERP and/or Coupa experience is preferred

  • Experience with ten-key is required

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Must have strong aptitude in Microsoft Office products (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook)
