Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Annapurna Finance in Cupertino, California

Description

Come join our Annapurna Finance team as a Sr. Financial Analyst. You will partner with Annapurna Labs Engineers and Operations team to build the next generation products for AWS. You will have exposure to several cutting-edge products at AWS. Senior financial analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, developing tools, reports, financial models, and analysis to support our R&D and manufacturing operations. The position will support budgeting & forecasting initiatives and monthly close process; provide operation expense variance analysis; and monitor operational KPIs or financial objectives. The job also manages capex, inventory, headcounts, overhead expenses, cost pools, allocations, and other efficiency or profit improvement projects.

 Support annual budget, long-range financial strategic planning, and ongoing periodical financial forecasting for our operations of manufacturing, R&D and facilities.

 Engage with operation team to prepare reports, KPIs and analysis to track and augment operation efficiency, as well as financial performance of the entity.

 Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, which includes review and preparation of journal entries, review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, specifically focused on inventory, COGS and operating expense accounts.

 Collaborate with supply chain and other cross-functional departments to ensure completeness and accuracy of COGS, operating expenses and inventory balances

 Investigate and analyze operation expenses to explain variances between actual and forecast, ensure forecast accuracy and competency

 Construct financial models to provide financial projections to support decision making of business initiatives and capital spending

 Collaborate with operations to establish product cost reduction objectives, monitor, analyze and validate saving results vs. objectives

 Analyze manufacturing variances and production activities to provide insights into the operation performance, identify risks and opportunities to mitigate risks and optimize costs.

 Support monthly close process and ad-hoc projects as needed

Our org covers multiple disciplines including silicon engineering, hardware design and verification, software, and operations. AWS Nitro, ENA, EFA, Graviton and F1 EC2 Instances, AWS Neuron, Inferentia and Trainium ML Accelerators, and in storage with scalable NVMe, are some of the products we have delivered, over the last few years.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in Business Administration

Experience in a manufacturing and/or semiconductor environment is a plus.

Experience in supporting global manufacturing processes is a plus as well as experience in working with global cross functional teams.

Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to work through data to find opportunities and actionable insights

Good understanding of financial concepts and general understanding of US GAAP accounting principles

Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in business analysis and Excel modeling, preferable with accounting and financial software such as TM1/Hyperion/Oracle/SAP

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

  • 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL, Business Intelligence tools, or the willingness to learn

  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and dealing with ambiguity.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities.

  • Advanced modeling skills including strong knowledge of Excel skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
