Position Summary: Duties are with regard to trade work on any of the hospital’s equipment (other than Clinical) systems or structure, but oriented to the mechanical aspect of these. Included are adjustment, maintenance, and repair of associated equipment to laundry, refrigeration, patient beds and other hospital furniture

Education, License & Cert:

High school graduate

HVAC/R Certification

Experience:

• Experience with hand tools and small power hand tools, and their proper use.

• Must have demonstrated the ability and have a minimum of three years job experience performing commercial mechanical, electrical, plumbing maintenance and refrigeration

• Must maintain a license that is valid to drive in NYS.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for proper maintenance and ensures all equipment is running satisfactorily.

• Performs maintenance repairs and replacement of all in‐house refrigeration systems.

• Performs mechanical maintenance and assists group with electrical/electronic repairs, as necessary.

• In areas where dedicated plumbing, HVAC, or electric are unavailable or unassigned will be required to perform work within these trades, which are within the same labor grade

• Other duties as assigned

• Utilizes time to department’s best advantage and in a manner involving the coordination of tasks that helps achieve high quality work and services and maximize productivity and efficiency.

• Exhibits initiative in performing all duties, regularly assists co‐workers, consistently strives to be a productive member of the department and the organization.

• Consistently demonstrates good judgment, ability to assess situations, consider alternatives, and select appropriate course of action. Consults supervisor as appropriate.

Other Duties:

• Travel for this position is sometime required.

Pay Range $15.91 - 22.81 per hour.
