SUMMARY

The Associate Manager of Continuous Improvement (CI) will have leadership responsibility for planning, coordinating, and managing activities and initiatives that have broad organizational impact focusing on CI within the Columbia, MD Tissue Technology manufacturing site. The CI leader will enhance production efficiency through deployment of lean methodologies, coaching and mentoring of site associates, effective leadership of CI projects with exceptional data collection and visualization. Under direct supervision of Plant Manager, the Associate Manager of Continuous Improvement (CI) will be a part of the site leadership team and develop CI strategies that will assure capability (BDPS, LEAN, TPS, TPM, Six Sigma, Financial Analysis, and Project Management) and effectiveness to achieve/contribute to overall Site objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Constant vigilance in ensuring safety and quality are part of everything we do.

  • Manage, Mentor and Lead the successful execution of CI Plans at site operations.

  • Actively find new opportunities for process improvement, reduce production costs, and improve

  • customer satisfaction

  • Work directly with Plant Manager, other Integra site CI Managers and Integra Global CI Director in the deployment of technical capability, consistency of Implementation, and transfer of Best Practice between sites.

  • Monitor and ensure that Financial Scorecard and Monthly Site Reports are maintained and updated.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with the site senior leadership team, working in close partnership to coach and mentor the organization on process improvement and business excellence efforts.

  • Train and develop staff (from Senior Management to shop floor operators) on Lean, and Six Sigma principles, creating a cultural trans formation and lean manufacturing mindset

  • Formulate key recommendations regarding improvements needed to achieve strategic business objectives, and proactively identify objectives in jeopardy of not being achieved without substantial improvement efforts.

  • Foster and encourage an organizational focus on process management, including related metrics, management-by-fact and best practice business discipline.

  • Infuse the “voice of the customer” into problem-solving efforts to ensure that solutions are meaningful to our participants and institutions.

  • Drive the prioritization of improvement activity within the site, including cost/benefit analysis and resource allocation.

  • Introduce efficiency measurement (productivity, Cost Conversion productivity and OEE) and quality improvement tools and methods to monitor/optimize the efficiency of operating processes in the organization.

  • Coordinate the development of timelines and action step accountabilities to drive improved business performance.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of deployment activities for Process Excellence, Reengineering & Transformation across the entire organization.

  • Develop a process for sharing and assimilating best practices across the enterprise.

  • Mentor and develop site personnel on CI and Zero Loss Mindset, develop future CI Leaders.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent with 3+ years of experience leading a team, Master degree with 0-2 years of experience leading a team

  • Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen or equivalent Process Improvement Certification Preferred.

  • Prefer 2+ years of project management experience, leading strategic projects for complex organizations (PMP preferred)

  • Demonstrated experience in knowledge and implementation of Toyota Production Systems (TPS)

  • Demonstrated experience in assembly line design, assembly line efficiency improvements (Past employment experience preferred)

  • Working knowledge of GMP and ISO standards preferred

The adverse working conditions listed in this section include, but are not limited to, those environmental conditions to which the employee may be exposed while undertaking the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, which is that of a general plant environment.

  • Clean room environment; must be able to properly gown and de-gown

  • Handling of raw materials (porcine bladder) required

  • May encounter strong odor of strong cleaning material
