Prysmian Group Job Description – Claremont Fiber Plant

Position: Maintenance Reliability Technician – Claremont Fiber Plant – Flex 40

Reports To: Fiber Plant Maintenance Manager

Claremont Fiber Plant requires a dedicated technician to assist with improving the reliability of our equipment in all areas as well as the reliability of our shift maintenance technicians.

Position Description:

  • This person will work within all areas and with all departments of our plant

  • Work closely with maintenance and engineering to identify needed reliability improvements.

  • Perform root cause analysis to determine reasons for equipment issues

  • Develop sustainable ideas/action plans/solutions to improve reliability

  • Provide support for equipment upgrades and improvements.

  • Generate procedural/informational documents for preventative or corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Improve/Expand existing documentation.

  • Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems

  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines

  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping in the offices, on the floor, and maintenance support areas

  • Other duties as assigned by direct manager or a member of management

  • Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, work at heights, lift up to 75 pounds and be on their feet for the entire shift

Experience

Required:

  • Demonstrated excellent mechanical and electrical ability

  • Experience in manufacturing setting

Preferred:

  • Experience in fiber optic manufacturing

  • Experience with Fabrication/repair/testing of parts

Education:

Required:

  • Relevant technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or technology

Skills/Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to use e-mail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

  • Detail and quality orientated

  • Analytical technical problem solver

  • Motivated team player

  • Drive and curiosity to improve the process

  • Ability to work with little supervision

  • Desire to generate change
