Tyson Foods Senior Analyst Finance in Chicago, Illinois
Position Summary: Provides financial support and analysis for the Supply Chain Finance team. Responsibilities include supporting the monthly close, annual operating plan, monthly forecast planning cycles, support cost variance analysis, sourcing analysis, capital strategic projects, and validation of cost savings / lean opportunities. Responsible for compliance with SOX and internal controls compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the financial planning, cost analysis, and reporting.
Support the 18-month rolling forecast and risk & opportunities process.
Responsible for the general ledger close, monthly analysis of manufacturing variances and COGS bridges.
Support annual operating plan and strategic plan and reporting.
Maintain offline BOM's and internal cost models for use in cost analysis.
Analyze costs of manufactured products for lean savings support, potential errors, and for commodity changes. Support and validation of cost improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Partner with the procurement, and PCM finance process to develop new product costing.
Communicates cost changes with procurement and brand/product finance.
Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly business review decks. Support mergers and acquisition requests.
Assist in ad hoc requests and special projects. Compliance with SOX and financial internal controls.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of Finance and/or Cost Accounting work experience.
Computer Skills: Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications. Proficient knowledge of ERP systems, SAP Preferred.
Specific Skills: Proficient knowledge of cost accounting principles. Proficient knowledge of accounting principles & policies. Proficient in financial analysis. Understands operations process flow. Ability to support CI/LEAN & other cost savings initiatives.
