[Charlotte County is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker, skilled in the repair, maintenance and care of grounds, facilities, and equipment to join our team. The successful candidate shall have any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Position requires knowledge of tools, techniques, and materials used in grounds maintenance and building trades; ability to operate mowers, tractors, and related equipment as well as power tools; and the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time. Degree or experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or construction preferred.

• Performs light plumbing, electrical, and painting in County buildings.
• Assembles, moves, and arranges office furniture and equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance and makes minor repairs to equipment.
• Assists with the maintenance and repair of county utility lines and sewer pumps.
• Performs carpentry work and general maintenance on the interior and exterior of county buildings.
• Performs lawn maintenance and leaf removal.
• Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC systems.
• Assists with snow removal and ice control.
• Helps maintain and clean the county animal shelter.
• Performs related tasks as required at all county facilities.
