This position is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Applicants will be considered for a shipping checker opening that may include, but not limited to, moving product as directed using pallet jacks, forklifts or other means reads work order and follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved, counted, weighed, put away and recorded safely opens containers, using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer or other hand tools loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags and other products update database records as required participate in all department and company training sessions and meetings. Other tasks include standing, walking, bending, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting and reaching. Candidates must be willing and able to lift, push, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. in many areas of production. Candidates must be willing and able to work in cold (temps ranging from 35-45 degrees F) and or damp environments with slippery walking surfaces. Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed.


Applicants must show six (6) months of work experience with the same employer within the last 12 months. Applicants will be required to earn forklift certification within 6 weeks of hire in order to perform essential job functions. If the applicant meets the minimum requirements, they may be contacted for an interview. Applicants who have worked for Tyson prior may be considered for rehire if they meet the location s rehire criteria. Applicants who were terminated from Tyson for the following reasons will not be considered gross misconduct job abandonment and, failure to report.
