Location Description The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility is 1,120,845 square feet and home to about 470 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits® and 9Lives®. This location has a cannery that produces wet dog food and there is also a Distribution Center on-site. Bloomsburg is home to Bloomsburg University, a municipal airport, a landmark Town Park with many acres of recreational activities, and has one of the largest and longest running fairs in the country. With so much to do and see, Bloomsburg is a great place to live, work and play! Responsibilities OVERVIEW: The Project Manager/ Engineer works with teams to develop ideas and new projects to improve Safety, Quality, Costs and Maintenance Reliability. This project manager position will be located in our Bloomsburg, PA plant. Develops the justification and costs for projects and writes CAR’s. Creates and leads project teams and Communicates progress of the projects. Installs all projects with a safety 1st attitude and per the scope, schedule, budget, quality standards and performance parameters. Is responsible for definition, acquisition, installation and start-up of equipment for commercialization. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Complete all work with a mindset that safety is the highest priority. Manage assigned engineering projects establishing manpower, budgets, scheduling, equipment, and materials. Facilitate project meetings as required. Error on over communication. Conduct discussions with internal customers to obtain input and communicate project plans. Control project scope, schedule, costs and quality via project management skills. Select and manage equipment suppliers and vendors. Select, hire and manage engineering consultants and construction contractors. Stay abreast of, evaluate and select appropriate equipment and technology. Specify and design food processing, packaging, and infrastructure systems. Prepare reports: expenditure requests, monthly reports, etc. Conduct feasibility studies and cost - benefit analysis. Provide construction management and start-up management. Maintain an up to date awareness of Federal, State, and Local engineering codes and regulations. Review ergonomics, safety requirements and sanitation/GMP/food safety aspects of assigned projects. Participate and be an active member of the engineering department to foster teamwork and provide excellent customer service. Provide training and educational services to all departments when applicable. Supervise and manage project construction activities. Best practice sharing and implementation Update and maintain process flows, P&ID’s and Engineering Standards Responsible for definition, acquisition, installation and start-up of equipment for commercialization Requirements: Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies. Must have strong analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills. Ability to influence, mentor and coach to get results through others. Able to develop and maintain a respectful and safe work environment. Qualifications EDUCATION: 4-year degree in science or engineering. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in operations, project management, process design and contractor supervision in a process environment. Proven project management experience of complex projects is required; Demonstrates interpersonal skills with strong grasp of engineering disciplines, plant operations and construction. Travel: Travel required for project meetings, vendor/engineering/consultant meetings.
