This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Troubleshoot and perform preventive repair maintenance on mill equipment. Assist in inventory control procurement. Maintain required records. Have knowledge of and comply with Tyson safety, electrical, hot works, environmental, lock out tag out, forklift operation, railcar mover operation, boiler operation policies and procedures.
Must have intermediate computer skills. Pass Tyson Forklift Test. Must have good mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical, electrical, gear boxes, motor control, drags, pneumatics, plumbing, welding and fabrication PLC and hydraulic experience a plus. Operate small tools welders. Work flexible schedule, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Must be willing to be called in or on call. Must have valid AL Driver License with good MVR. Climb vertical ladders in excess of 100 ft. Lift up to 100 lbs. Stoop, bend, squat, climb, push pull various loads, use repetitive physical motions, and stand long periods of time. Work in elevated area and ride in elevator. Work in extreme hot cold and dusty environment. Must have 6 months of continuous work history with 1 employer within last 24 months. Must not have been terminated from Tyson facility within past 2 years and cannot be rehired more than 3 times. Applicants discharged from Tyson for Job Abandonment, Unsatisfactory Probationary Period, Rules of Conduct, Walked Off Job, Attendance and Insubordination will not be considered. Only applicants from Marshall, DeKalb, Etowah, Blount, Cullman, and Calhoun counties in AL will be considered.
