We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Team in Albany, New York The HR Generalist is the primary point of contact for employees, supervisors, and management on a variety of HR activities pertaining to recruitment, employee relations, HR/Payroll, time reporting, appointment changes, performance management and benefits. .

Essential Functions:

The Human Resources Generalist will provide support and implement solutions on a variety of HR issues. This position will guide and manage the overall provisions of HR services, policies, and programs.

  • Build, strengthen, support culture and engagement.

  • Support the organization with both transactional/tactical and strategic functions/actions.

  • Monitor workforce productivity, retention, and engagement for trends and changes that require intervention.

  • Ensure coaching, feedback, and performance systems are in place to maximize workforce productivity; provide support and guidance on internal transfers and promotions.

  • Maintain personnel records and all relevant data relating to HR functions

  • Provide comprehensive support to employees, addressing concerns and facilitating conflict resolution.

  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent.

  • Streamline onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and welcoming introduction for new hires. Explain company personnel policies, compensation, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants and conduct new hire orientations.

  • Manage off-boarding procedures with professionalism and empathy.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance

  • Administers the benefits program for the company, including but not limited to benefits enrollment, qualifying life event changes, look back period audits, classification changes, etc.

  • Complete bi-weekly payroll processing in a accurate and timely manner, which includes calculating wages, deductions, and overtime.

  • Respond to team member HR calls/email/communication

  • Help with office management and administration items and other duties as assigned

  • Provide support with performance management and learning and development activities for units and teams. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.

  • Assist in the handling of employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Help with office administration items and other duties as assigned.

  • Assist with Building and Asset needs as necessary.

  • Provide leadership and leadership support and positive motivation to a growing team in a growing market.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 3+ years of Human Resources experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working in a similar industry is preferred.

  • General understanding of Workers Compensation & State and Federal Laws

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to recognize and diffuse difficult situations.

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to understand data trends, evaluate and make recommendations.
